“Gondo Purawangi” Mountain

One of the tourist attractions that was in Menoreh mountains that is “Gunung Gondo Purawangi”. Indeed this Mountain was not yet like that known by the wider community. This mountain was located in the Magelang Regency definitely. To be precise in the Kemloko Village 1 (Sturdy), the Acquaintance's Village, the Borobudur Subdistrict. If from the Boorbudur Temple the distance to reach this mountain around 15 km. This distance could be followed used good motor vehicles the wheel of two and the wheel of four by passing the route from Borobudur – Wanurejo – Candirejo – Sambeng – the Jagalan Market (Jogja) – Bigaran – and ended in the Acquaintance. This trip could be followed with time approximately 30 minutes. In this trip we could enjoy the road that travel by-descended and was winding as well as the width of the Progo River that was gotten in the road.

If we rose to the Borobudur Temple, the mountain that was seen like this box located on the south-east. The mountain that was the mainstay tour in this Kenalan Village apart from as the nature tour also could be made the pilgrimage tour, asceticism but also kemping. This mountain his location was neighbouring with the Gempal Mountain. Because of his location that bersebalahan then was gotten the place gap between the two mountains. This place was named “Pelawangan”. In this place we could acknowledge him as the peak child or the peak of the level of one. Why did we mention him like that? Because here we already could meniknati Gondo Mountain scenery was seen from the east. And in this place also we could have seen the sun rose or the kiss rise during the morning arrived.
Why Gunung Gondo this could be acknowledged as the Ziarah Tour??? Possibly this question often emerged in our thoughts. Yes because in this mountain was gotten the leading figure's three graves of the nationalist, wow..! Who were the three leading figures??? The three leading figures had a name:
1.Kyai Raden Gondo Kusumo,
2.Kyai Raden Ahmad Kusumo,
3.Dan Kyai Raden Prawira Kusuma.

According to their story was the follower Prince Diponegoro. Koon when the Diponegoro War, Prince Diponegoro and his followers happening had stopped over in this mountain to be precise in the cave by the place of this grave. Because with his loyalty to Prince Diponegoro, then up to the end of his life they continue to in this place. The cave that barada near this grave had the form of the cave mouth that resembled the form of the stupa. And in this cave also was gotten sendang. By people of this cave often was used as the place of asceticism. On the grave of three followers Prince Diponegoro was gotten by one sendang. Sendang this was named “Sendang Kuntul”. Whether from where from his name. But that was clear if we to sendang this should not see sendang this from his form that was not so big. With the form like this sendang this had the peculiarity that is his water was not finished although often was taken. It seems water in sendang this could cure the illness as being sick the eyes and itchy if someone bathed in this place.

Ok, the place that to tijuan main a mountain was his peak. If usually a mountain only has one peak, then the peak was in this Gondo Mountain divided into two that is the west and east peak. The peak that often was visited the person that is the peak on the east because of his place that was wider than the peak on the west. When arriving in this peak, we could enjoy beauty of surrounding scenery. We could also see mountain scenery like the Sumbing Mountain and Watu Kendil on the north-west of as well as Mount Merapi and the Merbabu Mountain on the north-east of. In this east peak we could also establish several tents. If we spent the night in this mountain the alias kemping, then we could receive two scenery at the same time that was very beautiful. That was first that is during tonight arrived we could enjoy the atmosphere of the night in mountains in a sparkling manner lights in the city and proceeding vehicles the flickering. Salah satu objek wisata yang berada di pegunungan Menoreh yaitu “Gunung Gondo Purawangi”. Memang Gunung ini belum begitu dikenal oleh masyarakat luas. Gunung ini terletak di Kabupaten Magelang tentunya. Tepatnya di Dusun Kemloko 1 (Gempal), Desa Kenalan, Kecamatan Borobudur. Jika dari Candi Boorbudur jarak untuk mencapai gunung ini sekitar 15 km. Jarak ini bisa ditempuh menggunakan kendaraan bermotor baik roda dua maupun roda empat dengan melewati rute dari Borobudur – Wanurejo – Candirejo – Sambeng – Pasar Jagalan(Jogja) – Bigaran – dan berakhir di Kenalan. Perjalanan ini dapat ditempuh dengan waktu kurang lebih 30 menit. Dalam perjalanan ini kita bisa menikmati jalan yang naik-turun dan berkelok-kelok serta luasnya Sungai Progo yang terdapat di sebelah jalan.

Apabila kita naik ke Candi Borobudur, gunung yang terlihat seperti kotak ini terletak di sebelah tenggara. Gunung yang merupakan wisata andalan di Desa Kenalan ini selain sebagai wisata alam juga dapat dijadikan sebagai wisata ziarah, pertapaan dan juga kemping.

Gunung ini letaknya bersebelahan dengan Gunung Gempal. Karena letaknya yang bersebalahan maka terdapat celah tempat antara kedua gunung ini. Tempat ini dinamakan “Pelawangan”. Di tempat ini kita bisa menyebutnya sebagai anak puncak atau puncak level satu. Kenapa kita menyebutnya begitu? Karena di sini kita sudah bisa meniknati pemandangan Gunung Gondo dilihat dari arah timur. Dan di tempat ini pula kita sudah bisa melihat matahari terbit alias sun rise saat pagi hari tiba.

Mengapa Gunung Gondo ini bisa disebut sebagai Wisata Ziarah??? Mungkin pertanyaan ini sering muncul dalam pikiran kita. Ya karena di gunung ini terdapat tiga makam tokoh nasionalis, wow..! Siapakah ketiga tokoh tersebut??? Ketiga tokoh tersebut bernama:

1. Kyai Raden Gondo Kusumo,

2. Kyai Raden Ahmad Kusumo,

3. Dan Kyai Raden Prawira Kusuma.

Menurut cerita beliau-beliau ini adalah pengikut Pangeran Diponegoro. Koon pada waktu terjadi Perang Diponegoro, Pangeran Diponegoro dan para pengikutnya pernah singgah di gunung ini tepatnya di gua di samping tempat makam tersebut. Karena dengan kesetiaannya kepada Pangeran Diponegoro, maka sampai akhir hayatnya mereka tetap di tempat ini.

Gua yang barada di dekat makam ini memiliki bentuk mulut gua yang menyerupai bentuk stupa. Dan di dalam gua ini pula terdapat sendang. Oleh orang-orang gua ini sering digunakan sebagai tempat pertapaan.

Diatas makam tiga pengikut Pangeran Diponegoro itu terdapat sebuah sendang. Sendang ini dinamakan “Sendang Kuntul”. Entah darimana asal namanya. Tetapi yang jelas kalau kita ke sendang ini jangan lihat sendang ini dari bentuknya yang tidak begitu besar. Dengan bentuk seperti ini sendang ini mempunyai keanehan yaitu airnya tidak habis walau telah banyak diambil. Konon air di sendang ini dapat menyembuhkan penyakit seperti sakit mata dan gatal jika seseorang mandi di tempat ini. Tetapi tidak diperkenankan memakai sabun.

Nah, tempat yang menjadi tijuan utama sebuah gunung adalah puncaknya. Jika biasanya sebuah gunung hanya mempunyai satu puncak, maka puncak di Gunung Gondo ini dibagi menjadi dua yaitu puncak barat dan timur. Puncak yang sering didatangi orang yaitu puncak di sebelah timur karena tempatnya yang lebih luas daripada puncak di sebelah barat. Ketika sampai di puncak ini, kita dapat menikmati keindahan pemandangan alam sekitar. Kita juga dapat melihat pemandangan gunung seperti Gunung Sumbing dan Watu Kendil di sebelah Barat Laut serta Gunung Merapi dan Gunung Merbabu di sebelah Timur Laut.

Di puncak timur ini kita juga dapat mendirikan beberapa tenda. Jika kita bermalam di gunung ini alias kemping, maka kita bisa memperoleh dua pemandangan sekaligus yang sangat indah. Yang pertama yaitu saat malam hari tiba kita dapat menikmati suasana malam di pegunungan dengan gemerlapan lampu-lampu di kota dan kendaraan-kendaraan yang berjalan kerlap-kerlip. Dan yang kedua yaitu saat pagi hari kita bisa menikmati indahnya matahari terbit alias sun rise yang keadaan ini sangat jarang ditemui di daerah perkotaan kecuali bila kita berlibur di pantai.

Nah, sekilas tentang sebuah gunung yang masih asing ditelinga kita yaitu Gunung ”Gondo Purawangi”.
